Special Limousin-influenced feeder-calf sales nearing

The North American Limousin Foundation is working with 11 auction markets in seven states to organize special Limousin-influenced feeder-calf sales this fall. The effort is part of the Limousin breed's commitment to the commercial cow-calf sector.

Contact the following markets directly for more information about their Limousin-influenced sales.

Colorado:

--Oct. 18: Centennial Livestock, Fort Collins, 970-482-6207; and

--Nov. 5: Winter Livestock, La Junta, 719-384-4491.

Iowa:

--Dec. 5 or 19: Colfax Livestock Sales Co., Colfax, 515-674-3561.

Kansas:

--Date to be announced: Russell Livestock Commission, Russell, 785-483-2961.

Montana:

--Nov. 1: Missoula Livestock Exchange, Missoula, 406-728-3052.

North Dakota:

--Oct. 25: Napoleon Livestock Auction, Napoleon, 701-754-2216.

Oklahoma:

--Date to be announced: Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Auction, Vinita, 918-256-6309.

South Dakota:

--Oct. 3, 10, 17 and 24: Fort Pierre Livestock Auction, Pierre, 605-223-2576;

--Oct. 8 and 22: Faith Livestock Commission, Faith, 605-967-2200;

--Date to be announced: McLaughlin Livestock Auction, McLaughlin, 605-823-4497; and

--Date to be announced: Philip Livestock Auction, Philip, 605-859-2577.

Last year's NALF-coordinated sales provided more than 60 commercial Limousin producers in five states with about a dozen opportunities to market more than 6,400 total head of Limousin-influenced feeder calves.
