Pratt livestock sales report
Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 2,334 head, Oct. 11, compared to 2,194 head last week and 2,445 head last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, feeder steers at 300 to 700 pounds and feeder heifers at 300 to 750 pounds were not enough for a market test but a steady undertone was noted. Feeder steers at 700 to 950 pounds were $2 to $5 lower. Feeder heifers at 750 to 850 pounds were steady to $1 lower. Trade was active demand was good. Slaughter cows were steady. Slaughter bulls were not tested. Receipts included 84% 600 pounds and over, 12% 600 pounds and under, 4% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 52% steers and 48% heifers.
