Ogallala cattle sales report
The Ogallala Livestock auction Market, Ogallala, Neb., reported receipts of 1,900 head Oct. 11, compared to 2,500 head last week and 1,850 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, steers and heifers under 600 pounds were steady to $4 lower. Steers and heifers over 600 pounds were not enough to compare. Steers accounted for 56% and heifers 44%, with 32% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 1 head, 386 lbs., 140.00; 411 to 439 lbs., 128.00 to 134.50 (129.97); 17 head, 419 to 424 lbs., 138.00 to 140.00 (139.42) value added; 450 to 490 lbs., 120.00 to 127.00 (124.17); 453 to 467 lbs., 130.00 to 135.00 (132.74) value added; 503 to 547 lbs., 123.00 to 130.50 (126.41); 568 to 595 lbs., 117.00 to 123.50 (121.63); 551 to 556 lbs., 126.00 to 130.00 (127.46) value added; 612 to 648 lbs., 117.00 to 120.25 (118.51) calves; 11 head, 690 to 697 lbs., 106.00 to 110.00 (108.92); 655 to 683 lbs., 116.00 to 119.00 (117.59) calves; 43 head, 800 lbs., 112.00; 16 head, 899 lbs., 108.50.
