Lexington livestock sales
The Lexington Livestock Market, Lexington, Neb. reported receipts of 2,300 head Oct. 12, compared to 1,300 head last week and 2,800 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, like offerings were too few to make an adequate market comparison, although a higher undertone should be noted. Demand was very good for yearlings and for the first substantial offering of calves this fall. Receipts consisted of 42% steers and 58% heifers, with 56% of total receipts weighing over 600 pounds.
