Joplin regional market report
The Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, Mo., reported receipts of 4,000 head Oct. 15, compared to 4,400 head last week and 4,103 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves and yearlings were steady, except 450- to 550-pound steers were $3 to $6 higher. Demand was moderate to good, with moderate supply. The feeder supply included 42% steers, 43% heifers, 15% bulls, with 38% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 350 to 400 lbs., 130.00 to 135.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 120.00 to 137.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 110.00 to 129.00; 600 to 700 112.00 to 118.50, calves 105.00 to 111.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 111.00 to 113.50; 800 to 900 lbs., 107.35 to 107.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, package 299 lbs., 130.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 120.00 to 129.00, thin 130.00 to 133.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 117.00 to 128.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 106.00 to 121.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 104.50 to 113.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 104.00 to 111.25; package 869 lbs., 102.00; package 915 lbs., 103.00.
