High Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Oct. 14, totaled 199,754 head, compared to 90,801 head last week and 174,529, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots. Steers: Live FOB bass, over 80% Choice, 6,674 head, 1,300 to 1,480 lbs., 87.00 to 91.75 (89.44); 65 to 80% Choice, 7,144 head, 1,175 to 1,450 lbs., 88.00 to 92.50 (91.10); 35 to 65% Choice, 47,536 head, 1,160 to 1,475 lbs., 87.50 to 93.00 (92.21); 0 to 35% Choice, 2,830 head, 1,245 to 1,435 lbs., 90.00 to 92.75 (92.23).
