Ericson livestock sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 2,900 head Oct. 13, compared to 2,750 head last week and 3,700 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, steer calves trended $2 to $3 higher, while heifers traded $1 to $2 lower. There were not enough yearling consignments to establish a trend. There were mainly good quality springs calves in the offering, with nearly all having received fall vaccinations. Receipts consisted of 55% steers and 45% heifers, 19% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 307 to 330 lbs., 143.00 to 152.00 (148.04); 368 to 391 lbs., 142.00 to 151.50 (148.51); 402 to 431 lbs., 135.50 to 146.00 (140.87); 458 to 496 lbs., 123.50 to 135.00 (130.13); 506 to 533 lbs., 120.50 to 128.50 (124.51); 551 to 591 lbs., 118.50 to 129.00 (123.42); 600 to 633 lbs., 113.75 to 120.25 (117.70) calves; 58 head, 781 lbs., 117.50; 8 head, 826 lbs., 114.50; 5 head, 876 lbs., 111.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 421 to 442 lbs., 130.50 to 132.00 (130.85); 10 head, 499 lbs., 119.00; 16 head, 543 lbs., 116.00; 11 head, 594 lbs., 116.50.
