Colorado feeder cattle reportThe Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., Oct. 12, reported receipts of 10,350 head, compared to 10,690 head last week and 11,400 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves were mostly $2 lower, instances were $3 to $5 lower early in the reporting period. Yearling steers sold $1 to $2 lower. Yearling feeder heifers were steady to $1 lower. Demand was moderate, with the lightest demand on fresh weaned and/or non-preconditioned calves weighing 600 to 700 pounds. The supply was made up of 58% feeder steers, balance feeder heifers, with about 44% of total supply weighing over 600 pounds.
