Arkansas cattle market salesThe weekly summary of livestock sales in Arkansas for the week ending Oct. 11, showed estimated receipts of 8,630 head, compared to 12,031 head last week and 6,699 head last year, according to the Arkansas Extension Service-USDA Market News, Little Rock, Ark. Compared to last week, slaughter cows sold mostly steady. Slaughter bulls sold steady to $1 lower. Feeders sold $1 to $3 lower. The supply was composed of 5,645 stocker and feeder calves, 1,695 feeder yearlings, 650 replacement cows, 560 slaughter cows and 80 slaughter bulls. The feeder supply was 43% yearling heifers. Slaughter cows: Breakers, 75 to 80% lean, 1000 to 1500 lbs., 41.00 to 47.00; high dressing, 47.00 to 51.50. Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 950 to 1400 lbs., 42.00 to 48.00; high dressing, 48.00 to 54.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1300 lbs., 38.00 to 44.00; high dressing, 44.00 to 52.00; low dressing, 30.00 to 38.00. Light, 85 to 92% lean, 700 to 950 lbs., 30.00 to 38.00; low dressing, 20.00 to 30.00. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1000 to 2100 lbs., 54.00 to 59.50; high dressing, 59.50 to 64.50; low dressing, 49.00 to 54.00.
