Apache cattle sales report

Stockman's Livestock Inc., Apache, Okla., reported receipts of 2,421 head Oct. 13, compared to 3,210 head last week and 2,577 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder cattle and calves were $2 to $4 lower. Demand was moderate for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to full. The supply included 47% steers, 41% heifers, 10% bulls and 62% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Demand was moderate to good. A total of 489 cows and bulls sold with 40% going to packers.

Light, 10 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 975 lbs., 39.50 to 43.50; high dressing, 47.50 to 49.50; low dressing, 34.00 to 35.50.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 14 head, 1175 to 2000 lbs., 59.00 to 61.50; low dressing, 51.50 to 53.50.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 to 6 years old, 875 to 1150 lbs., 2 to 6 months bred, average quality, 690.00 to 900.00.

Pairs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 to 6 years old, 850 to 1300 lbs., with 150- to 280-lb. calves, average quality, 1070.00 to 1280.00.
