Texhoma cattle sales report

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,236 head Oct. 10, compared to 918 head last week and 4,539 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to the last reported sale two weeks ago, feeder steers were steady to $1 lower. Feeder heifers were steady. Steer and heifer calves were steady. Demand good for feeders, moderate for calves. Weigh-ups were average to full. The supply included 45% steers, 50% heifers with 66% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 86 cows and bulls sold with 70% to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 342 lbs., 132.00; 7 head, 350 to 393 lbs., 138.00 to 141.00 (138.79); 463 to 483 lbs., 118.50 to 128.00 (123.54); 560 to 596 lbs., 114.00 to 119.50 (116.62); 13 head, 623 lbs., 113.00 calves; 20 head, 653 lbs., 112.50 calves; 604 to 644 lbs., 115.50 to 117.50 (116.72); 72 head, 689 lbs., 115.85; 6 head, 727 lbs., 117.50; 16 head, 784 lbs., 112.25; 59 head, 808 lbs., 112.25; 20 head, 891 lbs., 106.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 535 lbs., 115.50. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 325 lbs., 131.00; 9 head, 391 lbs., 123.00; 116 head, 705 lbs., 113.50.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 19 head, 480 to 492 lbs., 114.50 to 118.00 (115.77); 9 head, 526 to 536 lbs., 108.50 to 110.00 (109.17); 10 head, 561 to 565 lbs., 108.00 to 112.00 (111.20).

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 8 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1275 to 1500 lbs., 50.25 to 50.50; low dressing, 46.00 to 47.75. Boners, 12 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1075 to 1425 lbs., 48.40 to 49.50; low dressing, 43.50 to 47.25. Lean, 27 head, 85 to 90% lean, 950 to 1375 lbs., 47.00 to 49.50; high dressing, 51.00 to 51.50; low dressing, 40.50 to 45.00. Light, 6 head, 85 to 90% lean, 850 to 975 lbs., 35.50 to 40.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 7 head, 1550 to 2050 lbs., 59.00 to 59.50; high dressing, 62.50; low dressing, 54.00 to 56.50.
