Salina cattle auction reportThe Farmers and Ranchers Livestock Commission Co., Salina, Kan., reported receipts of 1,626 head, Oct. 4, compared to 2,342 head, last week and 1,894 head, last year, according to the USDA-Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers at 300 to 900 pounds were steady, except few Medium and large frame 1, 600- to 700-pound steers and heifers at 650 to 750 pounds were firm to $1 higher. Slaughter cows were not tested. Trade and demand were moderate. Receipts included 81% 600 pounds and over, 18% 600 pounds and under, 1% slaughter cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 57% steers and 43% heifers.
