Presho cattle sales reportThe Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 965 head Oct. 4, compared to 916 head last week and 2,200 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, load lots of steer and heifers sold steady. The part loads and small lots sold $1 to $2 lower. The offering included 55% feeder steers and 45% feeder heifers, with 95% 600 pounds and over. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 545 lbs., 128.50; 16 head, 729 to 732 lbs., 117.00 to 118.00 (117.62); 66 head, 785 lbs., 114.00 to 115.25 (114.83); 803 to 826 lbs., 109.75 to 114.25 (111.68); 857 to 866 lbs., 114.00; 917 to 938 lbs., 107.75 to 109.75 (109.04); 12 head, 1115 lbs., 96.50. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 11 head, 991 lbs., 99.75. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 457 lbs., 130.00; 25 head, 680 lbs., 115.00; 710 to 712 lbs., 112.00; 834 to 837 lbs., 108.75 to 109.25 (109.18); 909 to 944 lbs., 105.25 to 107.75 (107.15).
