Ericson cattle sales reportThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 2,750 head Oct. 6, compared to 1,650 head last week and 3,700 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers trended $3 to $4 lower. The run consisted of good quality spring calves, with moderate demand from a short list of buyers. Receipts consisted of 64% steers and 36% heifers, with 8% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 331 lbs., 141.00; 19 head, 379 to 380 lbs., 140.00; 405 to 447 lbs., 132.00 to 140.00 (135.65); 450 to 495 lbs., 123.50 to 133.00 (127.74); 501 to 548 lbs., 117.50 to 126.00 (122.21); 551 to 597 lbs., 114.25 to 127.00 (121.50); 603 to 606 lbs., 113.50 to 123.25 (120.33) calves; 36 head, 707 lbs., 111.25 calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 10 head, 470 lbs., 118.50; 6 head, 520 lbs., 114.00; 14 head, 707 lbs., 106.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 6 head, 296 lbs., 145.00; 350 to 394 lbs., 125.00 to 135.00 (128.76); 414 to 439 lbs., 123.00 to 126.00 (125.02); 452 to 499 lbs., 114.00 to 122.00 (119.08); 508 to 530 lbs., 110.50 to 116.00 (114.21); 551 to 594 lbs., 110.50 to 116.00 (112.54); 601 to 635 lbs., 107.00 to 108.50 (107.62) calves; 8 head, 910 lbs., 108.00.
