Dunlap feeder cattle report
The Dunlap Livestock Auction, Dunlap, Iowa reported receipts of 2,727 head Oct. 5, compared to 3,133 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa. This was a special feeder cattle sale. Demand was moderate. The auction featured a long string of yearlings. Compared to two weeks ago the calf market was under pressure with steer and heifer calves selling $3 to $4 lower. The yearling market was steady. Receipts included 58% feeder cattle over 600 pounds, 33% heifers and 67% steers.
