Colorado feeder cattle report
The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., Oct. 5, reported receipts of 10,690 head, compared to 5,480 head last week and 10,745 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves sold mostly $1 to $2 higher. Yearling steers and heifers were steady to $1 higher. Demand was moderate to good, with best demand for load lots of yearling feeder cattle. This week saw an increased offering of calves. The supply was made up of 68% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 45% of total supply over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 340 lbs., 142.00 to 143.00; 350 to 390 lbs., 134.50 to 138.00; 410 to 440 lbs., 121.00 to 135.50; 460 to 490 lbs., 119.50 to 129.00; 500 to 540 lbs., 115.50 to 126.50; 550 to 590 lbs., 112.00 to 120.00; 600 to 640 lb. calves 115.50 to 121.00; 650 to 690 lb. calves 105.00 to 117.75; 710 to 740 lbs., 111.75 to 117.50, calves 110.50 to 114.50; 750 to 790 lb. calves 109.00 to 116.25, calves 106.00 to 111.50; 800 to 830 lbs., 106.50 to 116.25; 850 to 890 lbs., 104.00 to 114.50; 900 to 930 lbs., 108.60 to 112.00; 970 to 980 lbs., 101.00 to 108.00; 1000-1010 lbs., 92.00 to 105.00.
