Bids end day lower, except cornGrain and soybean bids were lower except corn which was mix, according to the National Grain Market Summary, Oct. 8. Wheat was limit-down for the day due to speculative selling pressures, along with talk of rain in parts of Australia growing areas. Corn saw spillover pressure from wheat and soybeans, along with the lower energy markets. Soybeans decline upon news of some rain over the weekend in some of the dry areas of Brazil and speculative long liquidation selling. Wheat was mostly 30 to 35 cents lower. Corn was 4 cents lower to 5 cents higher. Sorghum was 4 to 15 cents lower. Soybeans were mostly 10 to 20 cents lower. Export news was unavailable. In the futures close, Kansas City December wheat was $8.64 1/2, down 30 cents. Terminal wheat bids, paid for truck delivery, included Kansas City, $8.25, down 30 cents; Minneapolis, $8.40 3/4, down 30 cents; Portland, $9.85 to $10.05, down 45 to 35 cents; St. Louis, $8.35, unchanged. Terminal corn bids, U.S. No. 2 yellow, price paid for truck deliver, included: Kansas City, $3.17, down 2 cents; Minneapolis, $2.99 3/4, up 2 1/2 cents; southern Iowa, $2.92 3/4 to $3.02 3/4, up 1 1/2 to 5 1/2 cents; Omaha, $2.93 to $2.97, down 4 to 2 cents. Terminal soybean bids, U.S. No. 1, price paid for truck delivery, included: Kansas City, $8.64, down 15 cents; Minneapolis, $8.37 1/2, down 18 cents; southern Iowa, $8.47 1/2 to $8.56 1/2, down 10 to 9 cents; central Illinois processors, $8.85 1/2 to $8.95 1/2, down 10 to 15 cents. Kansas City wheat prices Oct. 9, spot, fob track, included: No. 1 hard red winter wheat, ordinary protein, $8.39 1/4 to $8.81 1/4, down 16 1/4 to 14 1/4 cents; 12% protein, $8.62 1/4 to $8.89 1/4, down 17 1/4 to 18 1/4 cents; 13% protein, $8.72 1/4 to $8.92 1/4, down 15 1/4 cents; 14% protein, $8.72 1/4 to $8.92 1/4, down 15 1/4 cents.
