Ada livestock sale notes
The Southern Oklahoma Livestock Auction, Ada, Okla., reported receipts of 2,580 head Oct. 4, compared to 2,750 head last week and 3,250 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, steers were $3 to $4 lower. Heifers were steady to $1 lower. Demand was moderate on all classes. Weigh-ups were average. Flesh conditions were medium. The supply included 44% heifers and 36% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were $2 to $4 lower. Demand was moderate at best for slaughter cows. A total of 350 head of cows sold with 36% going to packers.
