Watertown cattle sales
The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 1,300 head Sept. 26, compared to 800 head last week and 750 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, while feeder steers were $1 to $2 lower, feeder heifers remained steady to $2 higher. The offering included 68% feeder steers, 32% feeder heifers, with 99% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 66 head, 717 lbs., 123.60; 832 to 844 lbs., 113.00 to 118.50 (114.22); 21 head, 850 lbs., 114.00; 926 to 945 lbs., 109.00 to 110.85 (110.23); 78 head, 950 lbs., 111.00; 134 head, 1032 lbs., 105.00; 43 head, 1132 lbs., 99.00; 1275 to 1276 lbs., 94.30. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 752 lbs., 113.00; 861 to 898 lbs., 105.50 to 109.00 (106.98); 5 head, 936 lbs., 107.50; 957 to 981 lbs., 105.00 to 107.20 (106.48). Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 711 lbs., 110.50. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 20 head, 601 lbs., 118.00; 43 head, 728 lbs., 113.50; 40 head, 755 lbs., 113.00; 814 to 843 lbs., 108.25 to 110.00 (108.90); 906 to 917 lbs., 103.50 to 108.00 (105.10); 1029 to 1032 lbs., 96.90 to 97.75 ( 97.07).
