Texhoma cattle sales reportThe Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,201 head Sept. 26, compared to 1,002 head last week and 680 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Steer and heifer calves were steady except 600 to 700 pounds were $2 higher. Demand was good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to full. The supply included 49% steers, 42% heifers with 70% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were $2 to $3 lower. A total of 160 cows and bulls sold with 60% to packers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 439 lbs., 132.50; 16 head, 460 to 493 lbs., 124.00 to 133.00 (127.47); 8 head, 541 lbs., 123.50; 560 to 578 lbs., 119.00 to 124.00 (121.43); 12 head, 605 to 648 lbs., 118.50 to 127.00 (121.90) calves; 666 to 692 lbs., 115.50 to 117.75 (117.24) calves; 54 head, 711 lbs., 118.25; 15 head, 705 to 747 lbs., 109.50 to 116.50 (115.52) calves; 13 head, 751 lbs., 117.00; 816 to 843 lbs., 112.50 to 114.50 (112.67); 119 head, 874 lbs., 112.50.
