Roping and Riding Championships set for Sept. 29
Kansas The Mid-America Rodeo Company has announced the Western Kansas Roping and Riding Championships to be held in WaKeeney, Kan., Sept. 29. The event will be held in the rodeo arena at the Trego County Fairgrounds. This is the second year for this event that is drawing increasing attention amongst the team roping and barrel racing contestants. The barrel racing is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., followed by the team roping competition at 2 p.m. The winners of the two events will be awarded custom trophies along with prize money. David Alexander will be supplying the steers for the roping competition. Entrants are encouraged to contact the Mid-America Rodeo Company in Hays, Kan., as soon as possible, although entries will be taken the day of the competition.
