Presho cattle sales report

The Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 4,204 head Sept. 20, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers sold steady. Numerous potloads of feeders off grass. Some calves on offer. The offering included 70% steers, 30% heifers, with 86% 600 pounds and over.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 473 to 498 lbs., 139.00 to 145.00 (143.10); 68 head, 568 lbs., 136.00; 9 head, 724 lbs., 118.25; 19 head, 783 lbs., 118.00; 800 to 849 lbs., 113.60 to 118.00 (115.30); 850 to 898 lbs., 111.00 to 115.75 (114.31); 901 to 946 lbs., 110.70 to 114.20 (112.65); 962 to 982 lbs., 105.50 to 111.35 (110.58). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 417 to 426 lbs., 127.50 to 130.50 (128.82); 63 head, 502 lbs., 127.00; 21 head, 649 lbs., 122.00; 25 head, 771 lbs., 115.00; 27 head, 823 lbs., 109.50; 12 head, 1018 lbs., 99.75.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 39 head, 438 lbs., 120.00; 37 head, 471 lbs., 124.50; 60 head, 523 lbs., 126.00; 708 to 746 lbs., 113.75 to 115.00 (114.34); 763 to 784 lbs., 110.75 to 114.50 (114.16); 804 to 844 lbs., 109.85 to 115.25 (112.50); 860 to 892 lbs., 107.50 to 112.25 (110.60); 62 head, 935 lbs., 101.75; 17 head, 961 lbs., 103.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 12 head, 379 lbs., 127.00; 35 head, 467 lbs., 118.00; 55 head, 683 lbs., 107.25; 20 head, 790 lbs., 103.75.

Bred cows and pairs: 20 head, 1441 lbs., 920.00 per head; 11 head, 1622 lbs., 1400.00 per pair.
