Pratt livestock auction report
Pratt Livestock Sales Inc., Pratt, Kan., reported receipts of 2,425 head Sept. 20, compared to 2,325 head last week and 1,579 head last year, according to the USDA to Kansas Department of Agriculture Market News, Dodge City, Kan. Compared to last week, feeder steers 300 to 700 pounds and feeder heifers 300 to 600 pounds not enough for market test but a weak undertone was noted. Feeder steers 700 to 750 pounds were $1 higher, 750 to 900 pounds were $3 lower, 900 to 1000 pounds not tested. Feeder heifers 600 to 850 pounds were $1 to $3 lower, 850 to 1000 pounds not tested. Trade was active demand good. Slaughter cows were $1 lower. Slaughter bulls were $2 higher. Receipts included 80% 600 pounds and over, 15% 600 pounds and under, 5% cows and bulls. The feeder supply included 59% steers and 41% Heifers.
