High Plains slaughter newsHigh Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Sept. 23, totaled 238,444 head, compared to 108,365 head last week and 178,315 head last year, according to the USDA Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots.
