Goldthwaite sheep salesThe Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Sept. 21, reported receipts of 3,301 head of sheep and goats, compared to 2,154 head last week and 2,991 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas. There are no comparisons available due to reporter's absence last week. Demand was good. The supply included around 40% sheep including nearly 500 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified. Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, 80 to 100 lbs., 50.00 to 75.00, few 60 to 75 lbs., ewe lambs 105.00 to 112.00. Dorper bucks, 100.00 to 150.00 per head. Barbados ewes, 70 to 90 lbs., 35.00 to 56.00. Barbados bucks, 140.00 to 245.00 per head. Slaughter lambs: Choice and Prime 2 to 3, few 90 to 110 lbs., 90.00 to 92.00. Good and Choice 1 to 3, 50 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 116.00. Slaughter ewes, Good 2 to 3, fleshy, 135 to 155 lbs., 34.00 to 37.00. Utility 1 to 3, medium flesh, 100 to 130 lbs., 35.00 to 47.00. Barbados, lambs, 50 to 75 lbs., 90.00 to 100.00.
