Georgia cattle auction reportThe summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending Sept. 21, totaled 14,055 head, compared to 15,526 head last week and 14,593 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were $1 lower, bulls were steady, feeder steers were $2 to $4 lower, heifers were $1 to $3 lower, steer calves and heifer calves were $2 to $3 lower, replacement cows unevenly steady. The offering included 8% steers over 600 pounds, 34% steers under 600 pounds, 5% heifers over 600 pounds, 26% heifers under 600 pounds, 10% feeder cows, 14% slaughter cows, and 2% bulls.
