Springfield dairy cattle saleThe Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., Oct. 23, reported 766 head of dairy cattle, compared to 886 head last month and 1,032 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Jefferson City, Mo. This was a special dairy heifer sale. Demand was good. The supply was light with 10% springer heifers, 20% bred heifers, 45% open heifers, 3% fresh and milking cows, 2% bred and springer cows, and 10% calves. Holsteins unless noted otherwise.
