Presho livestock sales reportThe Presho Livestock Auction, Presho, S.D., reported receipts of 4,000 head Oct. 25, compared to 1,200 head last week and 3,480 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, feeder steers under 500 pounds sold $2 to $3 lower, and feeder steers over 500 pounds were steady. Feeder heifers sold mostly $2 to $3 lower. Buyer attendance was good. Demand for yearling cattle was good to very good with last year's calf crop becoming harder to find. Demand for calves were moderate. The supply consisted of mostly large drafts of reputation cattle offered in load lots. Steers comprised 70% of the run and 30% were heifers, with 39% over 600 pounds.
