Goldthwaite sheep sales

The Mills County Commission Co., Goldthwaite, Texas, Oct. 26, reported 1,951 head of sheep and goats, compared to 1,382 head last week and 2,176 head last year, according to the USDA-Texas Department of Agriculture Market News, Amarillo, Texas.

Compared to last week, stocker and feeder lambs were not tested. Light weight slaughter lambs were steady, heavy weights were not tested. Stocker and feeder goats were $3 to $5 lower. Slaughter goats were $3 to $5 lower. Demand was good. The supply included around 30% sheep including nearly 200 lambs. Prices per CWT unless specified.

Stock and feeder: Dorper ewes, few 110 lbs., 65.00. Barbados ewes, 65 to 90 lbs., 40.00 to 65.00.

Slaughter lambs: Good and Choice 1 to 3, 40 to 80 lbs., 100.00 to 111.00. Slaughter ewes, Utility 1 to 3, Medium fleshy, few 130 lbs., 25.00. Slaughter bucks, few 130 to 150 lbs., 54.00 to 55.00. Barbados, lambs, 15 to 40 lbs., 89.00 to 100.00; 50 to 70 lbs., 70.00 to 80.00.

Slaughter goats: Kids, Selection 1, 45 to 60 lbs., 100.00 to 108.00; 60 to 80 lbs., 95.00 to 108.00. Selection 2, 45 to 60 lbs., 90.00 to 100.00. Nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 130 lbs., 35.00 to 45.00. Billies, 90 to 200 lbs., 70.00 to 79.00. Muttons, Selection 1, 90 to 120 lbs., 90.00 to 95.00.

Replacement goats: Kids, nannies, Selection 1, 80 to 125 lbs., 60.00 to 80.00. Selection 2, 80 to 125 lbs., 50.00 to 60.00. Billies, Selection 1, few 175.00 per head.

Stock and feeder goats: Selection 1, 30 to 45 lbs., 100.00 to 108.00.
