Colorado feeder cattle report
The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., Oct. 26, reported receipts of 16,550 head, compared to 17,150 head last week and 20,345 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo. Compared to last week, steer calves sold mostly $1 to $2 lower, instances were $4 lower early in the week. Heifer calves were $2 to $3 lower, with instances of $5 lower early in the week. Yearling steers and heifers were mostly steady. Demand was moderate to good, with best demand on the few remaining yearling feeders. The supply was made up of 57% feeder steers, the balance was feeder heifers, with about 37% of total supply over 600 pounds.
