Apache cattle sales report
Stockman's Livestock Inc., Apache, Okla., reported receipts of 3,264 head Oct. 27, compared to 3,284 head last week, and 3,484 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers were $1 to $2 lower. Feeder heifers were steady. Steer and heifer calves were steady to $2 higher. Demand was moderate to good for all classes. Weigh-ups were average to full. The supply included 54% steers, 40% heifers, 7% bulls and 56% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were $1 to $3 lower. Demand was moderate to good. A total of 504 cows and bulls sold with 30% going to packers.
