Aberdeen cattle sales report
The Hub City Livestock Auction, Aberdeen, S.D., reported receipts of 4,620 head Oct. 31, compared to 4,507 head last week and 4,710 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, steer calves under 550 pounds sold $2 higher. Heifer calves under 550 pounds sold $1 to $4 lower. Feeder steers and heifers 550 to 800 pounds sold mostly $7 to $8 lower. Feeder steers and heifers over 800 pounds sold mostly $7 to $9 higher. Demand was good with several consignments offered in load lots. Steers comprised 66% of the run, heifers 34%, with 52% over 600 pounds.
