Tulsa livestock auction report
The Tulsa Stockyards, Tulsa, Okla., reported receipts of 2,733 head Nov. 19, compared to 3,191 head last week and 2,652 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves were steady to $1 higher. Few feeder steers and heifers were $2 lower. Good demand on better cattle. Weigh-ups were average to full. There was a good attendance of buyers. Mild temperatures along with drying conditions continued across much of the state. Receipts included 38% of steers, 45% heifers, 17% bulls, with 17% of feeder cattle over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows were steady to $1 higher with bulls selling steady. Interest in bred cows increased. A total of 444 cows and bulls sold with 46% going to packers.
