Springfield livestock sales

The Springfield Livestock Marketing Center, Springfield, Mo., reported receipts of 2,958 head Nov. 14, compared to 3,079 head last week and 1,806 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo.

Compared to last week, steers were steady to $3 higher, heifers were steady, except some 550- to 625-pound heifers suitable for replacements were $5 to $10 higher. Holsteins under 700 pounds were $5 to $10 higher, over 700 pounds were steady to $2 higher, compared to a light test last week. Demand was moderate to good, supply moderate. Weigh-ups were average to full as unusually warm weather turning to more typical fall temperatures. The feeder supply included 39% steers, 17% Holsteins, 34% heifers, 10% bulls, with 40% over 600 pounds.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 450 to 500 lbs., 116.00 to 123.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 108.00 to 120.00; 600 to 700 lbs., calves 100.00 to 110.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 105.00 to 108.50; 800 to 850 lbs., 106.50 to 109.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 300 to 400 lbs., 110.00 to 126.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 110.00 to 122.00, package thin 124.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 100.00 to 113.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 100.00 to 108.50, calves 98.00 to 103.50; 700 to 800 lbs., 96.00 to 103.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 95.00 to 100.50.

Holsteins: Large frame 3, 300 to 400 lbs., 88.00 to 94.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 88.00 to 93.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 84.50 to 91.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 83.00 to 88.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 77.00 to 84.00; 800 to 900 lbs., 76.00 to 81.75; 900 to 950 lbs., 75.00 to 79.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 113.00 to 116.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 97.00 to 111.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 93.50 to 106.00, package replacements 111.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 93.00 to 100.00, replacements 109.00 to 111.00, calves 92.00 to 93.00; 700 to 800 lbs., 92.50 to 95.00. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 200 to 300 lbs., few 108.00 to 109.00; 300 to 400 lbs., 107.00 to 113.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 90.00 to 102.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 89.00 to 100.50; 600 to 650 lbs., calves 89.00 to 92.50, 650 to 700 lbs., 90.50 to 95.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 87.00 to 89.00.

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 500 to 600 lbs., 103.00 to 110.00; package 616 lbs., calves 99.00, 650 to 700 lbs., 96.50 to 97.50; lot 719 lbs., 95.00.
