Joplin regional cattle salesThe Joplin Regional Stockyards, Joplin, Mo., reported receipts of 3,600 head Nov. 19, compared to 6,000 head last week and 3,626 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers and heifers under 500 pounds were $2 to $5 higher, and over 500 pounds were steady. Demand was moderate to good, supply moderate. Best buyer activity was on light weight calves. The feeder supply included 45% steers, 43% heifers, 12% bulls, with 31% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 132.00 to 146.00; 400 to 500 lbs., 119.00 to 131.00, thin 120.00 to 134.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 107.00 to 118.00, package thin 120.00; 600 to 700 calves 101.00 to 111.00; 745 to 800 lbs., 100.00 to 105.00.
