High Plains slaughter newsHigh Plains weighted average direct slaughter cattle sales for the week ending Nov. 18, totaled 220,479 head, compared to 129,654 head last week and 211,849 head last year, according to the USDA-Market News Service, St. Joseph, Mo. The report was based on sales in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Iowa and Minnesota feedlots. Steers: Live FOB basis, over 80% Choice, 5,901 head, 1,300 to 1,550 lbs., 88.50 to 93.50 (91.17); 65 to 80% Choice, 4,290 head, 1,200 to 1,450 lbs., 90.00 to 94.00 (92.42); 35 to 65% Choice, 55,504 head, 1,100 to 1,490 lbs., 89.00 to 94.00 (92.85); 0 to 35% Choice, 5,402 head, 1,185 to 1,450 lbs., 90.00 to 93.50 (92.77).
