Faith livestock sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 1,259 head Nov. 19, compared to 1,573 head last week and 862 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves were lightly tested however a steady to weak undertone was noted. Feeder cows sold mostly steady to $2 lower. Slaughter cows sold $2 to $3 lower. Slaughter bulls sold steady in a light test. Receipts were comprised of 53% steers and 47% heifers with 41% weighing over 600 pounds. The total supply was made up of about 28% calves, 25% feeder cows, 5% slaughter cows and bulls, 40% bred females with the balance miscellaneous cattle. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 434 lbs., 133.50; 534 to 535 lbs., 120.00 to 124.00 (123.43); 609 to 627 lbs., 110.75 to 114.00 (113.33) calves. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 25 head, 480 lbs., 117.00; 569 to 589 lbs., 106.50 to 111.50 (109.65). Feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, young, 940 to 1150 lbs., 57.00 to 66.00; middle aged, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 48.00 to 54.50; aged, 1050 to 1350 lbs., 41.00 to 45.00, thin 37.75 to 40.75. Large frame 1 to 2, middle aged to aged, 1390 to 1750 lbs., 40.00 to 46.00. Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1175 to 1800 lbs., 38.00 to 40.50; low dressing, 35.75 to 37.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1325 lbs., 33.00 to 35.75; low dressing, 28.00 to 31.75. Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 1750 to 2120 lbs, 52.50 to 54.50; high dressing, 56.75; low dressing, 46.50 to 50.50. Bred heifers: Medium and large frame 1, bred black, calve February to May, price per head, 900 to 1025 lbs., black-black whiteface 940.00 to 1050.00. Bred cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, bred black-Charolais, calve March to May, price per head, 1215 to 1335 lbs., 3 to 4 years old, black-black whiteface 1220.00 to 1275.00; 1325 to 1415 lbs., 5 to 6 years old, black-black whiteface, 1100.00 to 1150.00; 1380 to 1480 lbs., 7 to 8 years old, black-black whiteface, 830.00 to 880.00; 1185 to 1390 lbs., broken, black-black whiteface-red whiteface, 555.00 to 660.00.
