Ericson livestock salesThe Ericson Spalding Livestock Auction, Ericson, Neb., reported receipts of 2,200 head Nov. 17, compared to 2,300 head last year, according to the USDA-Nebraska Department of Agriculture Market News, Kearney, Neb. Compared to last week, the bulk of feeder calves trended steady, with 450- to 600-pound steers trading $2 to $4 higher. Cattle quality was average, with good demand from a shorter than usual list of buyers. Receipts consisted of 60% steers and 40% heifers, 21% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 335 lbs., 152.00; 377 to 394 lbs., 142.00 to 146.50 (144.87); 406 to 446 lbs., 128.50 to 139.75 (135.50); 453 to 495 lbs., 124.50 to 135.00 (130.85); 501 to 549 lbs., 122.50 to 132.75 (129.14); 551 to 599 lbs., 116.50 to 121.50 (118.69); 601 to 627 lbs., 114.00 to 117.00 (115.89) calves; 660 to 686 lbs., 110.50 to 113.00 (111.96) calves; 708 to 748 lbs., 108.00 to 111.25 (110.73) calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 417 lbs., 138.50; 11 head, 464 to 499 lbs., 112.50 to 120.00 (115.77); 18 head, 519 to 532 lbs., 117.50 to 119.50 (118.38); 594 to 598 lbs., 114.00 to 115.75 (115.29); 8 head, 638 lbs., 108.00) calves; 13 head, 675 to 678 lbs., 107.50 to 108.00 (107.73) calves.
