Colorado feeder cattle news

The Colorado Auction Feeder Cattle Summary, Greeley, Colo., reported receipts of 14,450 head Nov. 16, compared to 16,250 head last week and 12,150 head last year, according to the USDA-Colorado Department of Agriculture Market News, Greeley, Colo.

Compared to last week, feeder steers weighing less than 600 pounds were steady to $2 higher, weights over 600 pounds sold mostly steady. Feeder heifers under 600 pounds sold steady to $1 higher, over 600 pounds were mostly steady. Demand was moderate to good, best demand continues for weaned and pre-conditioned calves. The supply was made up of 59% feeder steers, balance feeder heifers, with about 34% of total supply weighed over 600 pounds.
