Ag Appreciation Luncheon speaker announced for 2007 Amarillo Fa

Texas

Todd Staples, Texas Agriculture Commissioner will be speaking at the 2007 Ag Appreciation luncheon held at the Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show. The Ag Appreciation Luncheon, presented by the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce is sponsored by KGNC AM/FM, Texas Wheat Producers Association, Texas Cattle Feeds, Dairy Max and Panhandle Land Bank. Featuring catering by Hoffbrau Steaks, this event will be held Nov. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in the Grand Plaza Room at the Civic Center in Amarillo, Texas.

"The Panhandle of Texas is the most powerful agriculture area in Texas. Very few areas in the world come close to the economic impact we in the agriculture business have on the state of Texas," John Teague, Vice President of Business Development and Governmental Affairs for the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce said. "Commissioner Staples' keynote address during the luncheon will help show the agriculture community the appreciation and support we have for all Ag related products, be it livestock, food or fiber crops."

Last year, the Ag Appreciation Luncheon was attended by more than 200 attendees, including Debra McCartt, Mayor of Amarillo, Senator Kel Seliger and Representative David Swinford. Featuring a keynote address from Jim McAdams, past President of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, the 2006 event was a huge success, and 2007 promises to be even bigger and better. Tickets to the 2007 Ag Appreciation Luncheon are $15 or $100 for a table of eight. Please RSVP by Nov. 20th to Kim Turner at the Amarillo Chamber of Commerce, 806-373-7800.

The Amarillo Farm & Ranch Show, presented by "Built Ford Tough" and sponsored by the High Plains Journal, is the largest annual indoor farm show in Texas and will include more than 500 companies displaying the latest agricultural products and services for area farmers and ranchers. The show will be held Nov. 27 to 29, at the Civic Center in Amarillo, Texas. Admission is $2 with 100 percent donated back to the FFA. Children 18 and under are free. The show is open Nov. 27 and 28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Nov. 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information on attending or exhibiting at the 2007 event, visit www.Farmshows.com, or call 800-827-8007.
