Texhoma cattle sales report

The Texhoma Livestock Auction, Texhoma, Okla., reported receipts of 1,475 head Nov. 14, compared to 1,816 head last week and 863 head last year, according to the USDA-Oklahoma Department of Agriculture Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, there were not enough feeder cattle sold for a market test. Steer and heifer calves under 600 pounds were $1 to $3 higher, over 600 pounds were $2 lower. Demand was moderate for all classes. Fill was average. The supply included 53% steers, 45% heifers with 20% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were $1 lower. A total of 255 cows and bulls sold with 72% to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 20 head, 423 to 433 lbs., 118.50 to 120.50 (118.81); 471 to 486 lbs., 114.50 to 117.00 (116.01); 502 to 537 lbs., 112.00 to 123.00 (120.39); 556 to 591 lbs., 105.50 to 113.00 (110.13); 601 to 629 lbs., 104.00 to 109.00 (105.73) calves; 35 head, 670 lbs., 98.75 calves; 20 head, 759 lbs., 107.00. Medium and large frame 2, 5 head, 350 lbs., 113.00; 5 head, 404 lbs., 111.00; 10 head, 456 to 488 lbs., 109.00 to 114.00 (110.43); 583 to 593 lbs., 97.50 to 105.00 (99.56); 5 head, 628 lbs., 95.50 calves; 18 head, 755 lbs., 102.00. Small and medium frame 1, 20 head, 378 to 397 lbs., 108.00 to 116.00 (112.45); 19 head, 412 to 445 lbs., 107.00 to 110.00 (109.68).

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 2, 8 head, 567 lbs., 91.50.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 397 lbs., 107.50; 417 to 447 lbs., 104.50 to 107.25 (106.60); 18 head, 461 to 476 lbs., 101.00 to 106.50 (102.49); 510 to 543 lbs., 96.00 to 108.25 (104.55); 551 to 587 lbs., 95.00 to 103.50 (100.87); 34 head, 625 lbs., 93.50 calves. Medium and large frame 2, 9 head, 390 lbs., 101.00; 6 head, 412 lbs., 105.00; 17 head, 453 to 491 lbs., 94.00 to 100.50 (98.38); 565 to 593 lbs., 91.50 to 95.00 (94.24); 9 head, 733 lbs., 95.00; 14 head, 838 lbs., 94.25. Small and medium frame 1, 17 head, 406 to 430 lbs., 101.00 to 104.00 (102.98).

Slaughter cows: Breaker 7 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1200 to 1650 lbs., 42.75; high dressing, 46.00 to 46.50; low dressing, 38.00 to 41.00. Boners, 59 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1000 to 1450 lbs., 40.00 to 43.75; high dressing, 45.25 to 47.00; low dressing, 36.50 to 39.50. Lean, 73 head, 85 to 90% lean, 900 to 1350 lbs., 39.00 to 42.25; high dressing, 43.00 to 43.50; low dressing, 35.50 to 38.50. Light, 35 head, 85 to 90% lean, 800 to 1050 lbs., 36.25 to 36.50; low dressing, 30.00 to 35.25.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 11 head, 1400 to 2200 lbs., 55.00 to 55.50; low dressing, 49.00 to 52.50.
