St. Onge livestock auctionThe St. Onge Livestock Sales Co., Ltd., St. Onge, S.D., reported receipts of 3,237 head Nov. 9, compared to 2,959 head last week and 2,718 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, steer calves over 500 pounds sold steady to $2 lower with majority of the steady market on cattle over 600 pounds, offerings under 500 pounds had no comparable sales, however a lower undertone was noted. Heifer calves under 500 pounds sold $2 to $4 higher, offerings over 500 pounds sold mostly steady to $1 lower. Yearling cattle were not well tested. Demand was moderate to good on all classes. Receipts were comprised of 56% steers and 44% heifers with 11% over 600 pounds.
