Sioux Falls sheep sale reportThe Sioux Falls sheep auction, Sioux Falls, S.D., reported receipts of 1,215 head Nov. 12, compared to 1,185 head last week and 1,113 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News Service, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, the bulk of the slaughter lambs sold mostly steady. Slaughter ewes were too few in any weight group to test. Feeder lambs sold unevenly steady on a light test. Buyer attendance good with good demand. Receipts included about 47% slaughter lambs, 32% feeder lambs, 15% slaughter ewes and the balance was bucks and miscellaneous sheep. Slaughter lambs: Shorn, Choice and Prime 2 to 4, 136 to 139 lbs., 91.75 to 92.00 (91.88). Choice and Prime 2 to 4, 133 to 144 lbs., 89.00 to 93.00 (90.90); 152 to 153 lbs., 89.75 to 91.00 (90.60). Wooled, Choice and Prime 3 to 4, 22 head, 146 lbs., 87.50; 10 head, 160 lbs., 85.00. Wooled, Choice 2 to 3, 119 to 128 lbs., 88.00 to 91.00 (89.35). Slaughter ewes: Good 2 to 3, 157 to 159 lbs., 25.50; 158 lbs., 30.00 gaunt; 160 to 192 lbs., 25.50 to 28.00 (26.54); 16 head, 172 lbs., 30.50 guant. Good 3 to 4, 20 head, 208 to 222 lbs., 20.50 to 24.00 (22.43). Utility 1 to 2, 9 head, 134 to 135 lbs., 22.50 to 26.00 (23.67). Cull and Utility 1 to 2, 6 head, 129 lbs., 21.00. Feeder lambs: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 71 to 78 lbs., 96.00; 5 head, 89 lbs., 91.50; 90 to 93 lbs., 88.00 to 92.75 (92.51); 104 to 109 lbs., 86.25 to 87.50 (87.00); 111 to 112 lbs., 86.25.
