McAlester livestock salesThe McAlester Union Livestock Market, McAlester, Okla., reported receipts of 2,350 head Nov. 13, compared to 2,400 head last week and 3,000 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla. Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Demand was moderate to good on all classes. Quality and weigh-ups were average. Flesh conditions were medium to fleshy. The supply included 41% heifers and 35% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 300 cows and bulls sold with 50% going to packers.
