McAlester livestock sales

The McAlester Union Livestock Market, McAlester, Okla., reported receipts of 2,350 head Nov. 13, compared to 2,400 head last week and 3,000 head last year, according to the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Oklahoma City, Okla.

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers were steady. Demand was moderate to good on all classes. Quality and weigh-ups were average. Flesh conditions were medium to fleshy. The supply included 41% heifers and 35% over 600 pounds. Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. A total of 300 cows and bulls sold with 50% going to packers.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 405 to 444 lbs., 122.50 to 129.50 (124.78); 12 head, 478 lbs., 116.50; 520 to 539 lbs., 112.00 to 120.00 (115.65); 18 head, 565 to 597 lbs., 107.00 to 114.00 (109.44); 600 to 647 lbs., 108.00 to 110.00 (109.12); 18 head, 670 to 695 lbs., 105.00 to 107.50 (106.76); 725 to 747 lbs., 103.50 to 106.50 (105.37); 5 head, 801 lbs., 101.50. Medium and large frame 2, 7 head, 391 to 395 lbs., 125.00 to 130.00 (127.16); 6 head, 470 to 493 lbs., 105.50 to 111.00 (108.0); 14 head, 523 to 548 lbs., 102.50 to 106.00 (104.01); 550 to 593 lbs., 97.50 to 106.00 (102.97); 8 head, 618 to 645 lbs., 101.00 to 105.00 (103.29); 9 head, 663 to 697 lbs., 96.50 to 101.00 (98.67); 7 head, 710 to 733 lbs., 93.00 to 97.50 (95.62).

Feeder bulls: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 505 to 548 lbs., 103.00 to 111.00 (104.50); 9 head, 600 to 615 lbs., 96.00 to 101.50 (98.86).

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 7 head, 408 to 415 lbs., 110.00 to 111.00 (110.58); 18 head, 484 to 498 lbs., 107.50 to 110.00 (108.50); 500 to 537 lbs., 100.00 to 106.50 (103.73); 573 to 591 lbs., 95.00 to 105.00 (98.87); 609 to 638 lbs., 91.00 to 101.00 (94.83). Medium and large frame 2, 6 head, 399 lbs., 105.50; 16 head, 403 to 448 lbs., 101.50 to 106.50 (103.74); 450 to 475 lbs., 101.00 to 105.00 (103.61); 12 head, 500 to 545 lbs., 91.00 to 99.00 (95.88); 9 head, 620 to 645 lbs., 87.00 to 88.00 (87.44); 10 head, 684 to 698 lbs., 87.00 to 90.50 (89.44).

Slaughter cows: Breakers, 50 head, 75 to 80% lean, 1100 to 1825 lbs., 45.00 to 46.00; high dressing, 47.00 to 49.00; low dressing, 42.00 to 44.00. Boners, 55 head, 80 to 85% lean, 1050 to 1375 lbs., 44.00 to 46.00; high dressing, 48.00 to 49.00; low dressing, 39.00 to 43.00. Lean, 35 head, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1200 lbs., 42.00 to 43.00; high dressing, 44.00 to 47.00; low dressing, 38.00 to 42.00. Light, 15 head, 85 to 90% lean, 750 to 1100 lbs., 35.00 to 37.00.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1 to 2, 15 head, 1300 to 1950 lbs., 55.00 to 57.00; high dressing, 59.00 to 60.00; low dressing, 51.00 to 54.00.

Replacement cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 to 4 years old, 850 to 1000 lbs., 2 months bred, average to high blacks, 910.00 to 950.00.
