Georgia cattle sales summary
The summary of Georgia cattle auctions for the week ending Nov. 9, showed receipts of 12,137 head, compared to 10,879 head last week and 12,006 head last year, according to the USDA-Georgia Department of Agriculture Market News, Thomasville, Ga. Compared to one week ago, slaughter cows were steady to $2 lower, bulls were $1 to $2 lower, feeder steers and heifers were $1 to $3 lower, steer calves and heifer were calves $1 to $3 lower, replacement cows were $1 to $2 lower. The offering included 8% steers over 600 pounds, 34% steers under 600 pounds, 6% heifers over 600 pounds, 26% heifers under 600 pounds, 9% feeder cows, 15% slaughter cows and 2% bulls.
