Faith cattle sales reportThe Faith Livestock Commission Co., Faith, S.D., reported receipts of 1,573 head Nov. 12, compared to 3,948 head last week and 1,408 last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to last week, steer and heifer calves sold steady to $3 higher on limited comparable sale. Feeder cows sold mostly steady to weak. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 lower with the full decline on lean cows. Slaughter bulls sold fully steady in a light test. Receipts were comprised of 66% steers and 34% heifers with 55% weighing over 600 pounds. The total supply was made up of about 55% feeder calves, 40% feeder cows, 3% slaughter cows and bulls with the balance miscellaneous cattle. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 15 head, 411 to 435 lbs., 131.00 to 133.00 (131.83); 7 head, 457 to 460 lbs., 125.00 to 129.00 (127.86); 507 to 545 lbs., 120.50 to 122.25 (121.68); 572 to 590 lbs., 111.25 to 111.50 (111.32) fleshy; 602 to 610 lbs., 117.75 to 122.50 (120.13) calves; 658 to 662 lbs., 111.50 to 117.75 (115.89) calves. Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 27 head, 511 lbs., 118.75. Medium and large frame 2, 8 head, 685 lbs., 93.50. Small and medium frame 2 to 3, 20 head, 801 lbs., 55.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 5 head, 279 lbs., 131.00; 5 head, 397 lbs., 121.50; 19 head, 413 to 433 lbs., 120.50 to 121.00 (120.68); 469 to 491 lbs., 114.00 to 115.00 (114.78); 508 to 542 lbs., 110.25 to 112.00 (110.53); 13 head, 535 lbs., 105.50 fleshy; 608 to 635 lbs., 104.00 to 104.25 (104.11) calves; 9 head, 652 lbs., 100.00) calves; 20 head, 901 lbs., 99.75; 6 head, 985 lbs., 94.25. Feeder cows: Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 2 to 3 years old, 900 to 1075 lbs., 86.50 to 89.00; 3 to 4 years old, 945 to 1050 lbs., 70.00 to 72.00; young, 850 to 1050 lbs., 63.00 to 69.00; middle aged, 1000 to 1150 lbs., 50.50 to 54.50; aged, 1000 to 1350 lbs., 43.50 to 48.00, thin/low yielding 39.75 to 43.00. Large frame 1 to 2, middle aged to aged, 1375 to 1900 lbs., 41.25 to 45.00, few thin 38.25 to 40.00. Slaughter cows: Boners, 80 to 85% lean, 1080 to 1650 lbs., 41.50 to 44.25; low dressing, 40.25 to 41.50. Lean, 85 to 90% lean, 1000 to 1300 lbs., 36.50 to 38.50; low dressing, 33.50 to 34.50.
