Dunlap cattle sales report
The Dunlap Livestock auction, Dunlap, Iowa, reported receipts of 1,022 head Nov. 9, compared to 1,758 head last week and 1,321 head last year, according to the Iowa Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News, Des Moines, Iowa. This was a special preconditioned cattle sale. Demand was moderate. Light crowd on hand light crowd on the seats. No comparisons due to last weeks sale wasn't preconditioned. Receipts included 48% feeder cattle over 600 pounds, 56% heifers and 44% steers. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 16 head, 364 to 393 lbs., 136.00 to 146.00 (141.66); 3 head, 483 lbs., 129.00; 503 to 548 lbs., 120.00 to 126.00 (123.92); 552 to 589 lbs., 116.00 to 123.25 (121.54); 603 to 644 lbs., 108.00 to 116.50 (112.48) calves; 663 to 692 lbs., 107.00 to 118.10 (113.30) calves; 35 head, 702 lbs., 116.75 calves; 9 head, 767 lbs., 106.00 calves; 3 head, 813 lbs., 104.25 calves. Medium frame 1, 4 head, 526 lbs., 113.00; 6 head, 736 to 740 lbs., 100.00 to 100.25 (100.08). Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 11 head, 374 to 376 lbs., 125.00 to 126.00 (125.64); 9 head, 434 lbs., 117.00; 14 head, 450 to 493 lbs., 111.00; 521 to 536 lbs., 105.25 to 112.25 (109.19); 553 to 591 lbs., 105.00 to 110.25 (107.23); 607 to 649 lbs., 104.00 to 110.00 (105.30) calves; 5 head, 685 lbs., 104.25 calves; 14 head, 731 lbs., 100.25 fleshy; 2 head, 773 lbs., 95.00 fleshy.
