Wheat rated in mostly fair to good conditionColorado Precipitation was extremely scarce across Colorado during the week ending Nov. 4, and most areas reported little or no rainfall received, according to the National Agricultural Statistics Service, Colorado Field Office, Nov. 5. This, along with temperatures that were well-above average for this time of year, allowed producers an average of 6.7 days suitable for fieldwork. Winter wheat was 99 percent emerged by the end of the week. The crop is rated in mostly good to fair condition. Sorghum was 69 percent harvested while sunflowers were 84 percent harvested by the end of the week. Corn was 81 percent harvested and sugarbeets were 79 percent harvested. Fourth cutting of alfalfa was 83 percent complete by the end of the week. Pasture and range conditions continue to be rated in mostly good to fair. Death loss for cattle was reported at average while sheep were slightly below average last week. Livestock is rated in mostly good condition. Stored feed supplies are slightly above average for this time of year. 11/12/07 Date: 11/7/07
