West Plains regional sales
The Ozarks Regional Stockyard, West Plains, Mo., reported receipts of 4,400 head Nov. 6, compared to 4,532 head last week and 2,424 head last year, according to the Missouri Department of Agriculture-USDA Market News Service, Jefferson City, Mo. Compared to last week, steers and heifers under 450 pounds sold mostly steady, with steers over 450 pounds at $2 to $3 lower, and heifer-mates $2 to $4 lower. There were spots of $4 to $5 lower on the more undesirable kinds, including fleshy/fat, plain and straight-bred exotics. The supply was heavy. Demand was light to moderate. The feeder supply consisted of 54% steers and 46% heifers, with nearly 32% weighed over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300 to 400 lbs., 123.00 to 135.00, few thin/weaned 140.00 to 142.50; 400 to 500 lbs., 114.50 to 128.00; 500 to 600 lbs., 105.00 to 116.00, fleshy 102.50 to 106.00; 600 to 700 lbs., 102.50 to 110.50, fleshy 98.00 to 101.00; 700 to 750 lbs., 100.00 to 104.50, few fleshy 96.00 to 97.00.
