Watertown cattle sales
The South Dakota Livestock Sales, Watertown, S.D., reported receipts of 800 head, compared to 1,350 head last year, according to the USDA-South Dakota Department of Agriculture Market News, Sioux Falls, S.D. Compared to two weeks ago, feeder steers and heifers at 600 pounds and lighter were steady. Feeder steers made up 64% of the run, feeder heifers made up 36%, with 40% over 600 pounds. Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 451 to 497 lbs., 124.50; 551 to 594 lbs., 112.00 to 118.00 (117.00); 600 to 642 lbs., 110.50 to 113.75 (113.13) calves; 9 head, 666 lbs., 111.00 calves; 19 head, 818 lbs., 107.50; 1187 to 1190 lbs., 88.20 to 90.20 (88.44). Medium and large frame 1 to 2, 7 head, 447 lbs., 117.50; 6 head, 563 lbs., 111.00; 6 head, 635 lbs., 107.00 calves; 5 head, 783 lbs., 102.00; 13 head, 1132 lbs., 87.00 to 89.50 (88.15). Medium frame 1, 5 head, 780 lbs., 94.00. Medium frame 1 to 2, 5 head, 893 lbs., 70.50. Feeder Holstein steers: Large frame 3, 10 head, 699 lbs., 86.00; 6 head, 792 lbs., 78.50; 7 head, 913 lbs., 76.00. Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 10 head, 406 lbs., 120.50; 462 to 469 lbs., 117.50 to 120.00 (118.83); 507 to 536 lbs., 109.00 to 111.50 (110.15); 559 to 588 lbs., 104.00 to 108.75 (106.71); 5 head, 773 lbs., 101.00.
